The R Roundup: Apple CEO Tim Cook Talks Crypto Holdings — Issue #14
As the storm of crypto continues its journey through the corporate world, It came to no surprise to see Apple CEO “Tim Cook” comment on the digital asset class.
In a recent interview with The New York Times; Dealbook, Cook was asked about his views on crypto and he went on to say:
“There’s things which I wouldn’t do like put crypto on Apple’s balance sheets as when people buy an Apple stock they do not want exposure to crypto, And I’m not planning to in the immediate future accept crypto for our products but, there are other things we are definitely looking at”
Tim went on to add that he himself owns crypto and is of the belief that “It is reasonable to (own crypto) as part of a diversified portfolio.
Putting this into perspective, we are seeing once again another influential body speak about crypto in a positive light. Apple’s CEO owning crypto only extends the possibilities of future integration which would force mass adoption with Apple having over 900 million active Iphones.

Discord Cancels Proposed Crypto Integration Plans 🚫
Earlier this month, there was noise around Discord potentially looking at crypto integration on the platform.
Discord founder Jason Citron tweeted a picture of what looked like a development of the Discord platform allowing a connection to a crypto wallet.
After receiving a large amount of backlash from the Discord community users, Citron made the following comments :
“Thanks for all the perspectives everyone. We have no current plans to ship this internal concept. For now we’re focused on protecting users from spam, scams and fraud. Web3 has lots of good but also lots of problems we need to work through at our scale. More soon.”
It is important to remember that despite the speed at which Crypto is being adopted, there will be minor step backs which stem from people having a negative outlook to the idea of crypto currency’s.
New-York Mayor Elect ‘Eric Adams’ Thinks “Crypto should be taught in schools” 👨🏫
With Eric Adams recent victory to claim the title of Mayor, he has been far from timid with expressing his views on crypto. It could be concluded from his standpoint towards the digital asset that he has full intentions of promoting New York city as a crypto friendly space.
Eric Adams was recently found commenting on the suggestion for schools to teach about crypto and its technology.
